Yusuf SSENTEZA

Trainer

Mr. Yusuf Ssenteza who joined service in April 1995 as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, rose through the ranks to the current status of Chief Administrative Officer. He has attained a wealth of expertise along his career growth path of an outstanding performance of 21 years of service. His performance has been honoured with award of prizes and certificates.

During this period, he has been a Resource Person as Trainer with the Ministry of Local Government on Decentralisation and Local Government Management and participated in drawing local government councils’ records retention schedules. He has been a member on a number of committees constituted to review various Laws and Regulations on Local Government Councils. In 2005 to 2006 he was a part time Lecturer at Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) teaching the Post graduate students Decentralisation and Local Government.

Since 2000, he has been a member of various school boards of Governors. Currently he is the Chairperson of Kabukunge Primary Teachers College in Kalungu District, and a Member Board of Governors for Masaka Senior Secondary School.

As a farmer, he has been involved in commercial farming, mainly poultry, agro forestry and coffee farming. Farming has given him the privilege of hosting His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda, 400 Sub county Chiefs and Town Clerks brought by the National leadership institute Kyankwanzi, Members of the National Integrated Forum and various National and Local leaders, with whom he has shared experiences.

Yusuf holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration obtained in 1994 from Punjabi University Patiala, India, BA Hons in Public Administration obtained in 1992 from Panjab University Chandigarh, India, Postgraduate Diploma in Human resource management and Industrial relations from Indian Institute of management and research. This is complemented with a number of skills development certificate courses attended in Uganda, Denmark, USA, China, and South Korea.
